As talks in Copenhagen reach a critical mid-way point, candlelight vigils and rallies are being held in communities around the world.

Sounds of 350
Sunday December 13th
 
KAIROS - Canadian Ecumenical Justice Initiatives is spearheading Canada's participation in this international event, overseen by the World Council of Churches.  On Sunday, Dec. 13 faith-based groups around the world will ring their bells 350 times, either at 3:00 pm (to be part of a chain of bells rolling around the Earth) or at the end of their service. Help spread the word through your work and personal networks so every church in Canada knows about this historic event.

Toronto: "Sign The Real Deal" Wall and Vigil
 
Location:  The University of Toronto, Earth Sciences Building, 33 Wilcocks Street, Toronto, Ontario
 
Time: 3pm - 7:30pm, Saturday December 12, 2009
 
CAN is partnering with the Toronto Climate Campaign to host an indoor rally from 3pm to 5:30pm.  The indoor rally will include speakers, bands, face-painting, and live report-backs from representatives attending the Copenhagen treaty negotiations. People will also have the opportunity to write a personal message stating what they want the world's leaders to agree to in Copenhagen on a massive 8-foot-high 10-foot-long wall. 
 
Following the event, from 6pm to 6:45pm we will march with candles to Queens Park, University and Wellesley Avenues, Toronto, Ontario M5H2N2.

At 7pm we will hold a candlelight vigil at Queens Park, Toronto.

 Ottawa: Climate Justice Vigil 
 
Location: Human Rights Monument on the corner of Elgin Street and Luarier Avenue, Ottawa, Ontario
 
Time: 6pm, Saturday December 12, 2009

Join us at the Human Rights Monument for a candlelight vigil and to sing climate carols!  The gathering will begin with an update on the week's events in Copenhagen.  Then we will sing carols as a group, and walk together with our candles to Parliament Hill.
 
Afterwards, everyone is invited for tea/coffee (provided by Bridgehead) at Polaris, 180 Metcalfe, Suite 500, K2P 1P5.

Vancouver: "The World Wants a Real Deal" 
 
Location:  Vancouver Public Library Central Branch. 350 West Georgia, Vancouver, British Columbia
 
Time:  11am - 5pm, Saturday December 12, 2009
 
Join us at the Vancouver Public Library Central Branch for a full day of climate action including a panel discussion with Ashley Webster, Andrea Reimer, Emily Chan and Paul Lock, a message wall where people can write their personal messages saying what they want the world's leaders to agree to in Copenhagen, music, kids programming, speakers, theatre, a candle-light vigil, and more. 
 
11am - Open Discussion (filmed)
12pm - Opening Ceremonies / Music
1-3pm - Speakers, Kids Programming, Theatre
4pm - Candle Light Vigil

In Copenhagen, at the site of the negotiations, TckTckTck partners will represent this show of global solidarity using the photos, videos and pledges sent in from around the planet at a special vigil happening just outside the summit building.
