CLIMATE WEEK

GET ON BOARD! There are already over 100 actions organized across the country!  Join Oxfam, Climate Action Network, and tcktcktck.org and organize an "alarm clock" style demonstration to send the message that time is running out and we must wake up and take action now!  Folks in Vancouver are organizing a giant human-image of an alarm clock; others are meeting inside their elected officials' offices at 12:18pm (the date of the Copenhagen negotiations) and having their cell phone alarms unanimously ring for two minutes.  Use these ideas or come up with your own.  For events going on in your area check out this link avaaz.org, and to create your own event click here.  TckTckTck has reached 1 million, lets get it to 2! tcktcktck.org.

*No action is too small, use your imagination to come up with your own powerful ideas!
Global Wake Up Call
September 21st
is the beginning of a very important week for climate change.  In New York, The United Nations General Assembly Special Session on Climate Change will commence as the largest gathering of heads of state focused solely on climate change.  The G20 will also meet in Pittsburgh with climate change on the agenda.

PEDAL FOR PEDAL FOR THE PLANETPedal for the Planet
Pedal for the Planet finished a VERY successful cross-country tour yesterday with a convergence on Parliament Hill and an embassy bike tour to demand action on climate change.

Even though the biking is done you can still sign the KYOTOplus petition online!

Organizers of the October 24th day for climate action are calling out to all Canadians for their help!  A video collage is being created of people holding up signs calling for meaningful action on climate change, saying they will be at the event.  Make a home made sign that says "I will be at the day of action!", "Canada make us proud!", or anything you can think of and send in the picture of yourself.  It is important to emphasize the international nature of the event, so the more languages the better!  Send your pictures to Ben@climateactionbc.org.
