CHURCHES CALL FOR A MORAL RESPONSE TO THE GLOBAL ECONOMIC CRISIS
Kairos, a social justice organization of eleven Christian churches and church organizations, called on federal, provincial and territorial governments last week to adopt moral and ethical values in their responses to the global economic crisis. In the letter, Kairos argues that "our wasteful over-consumption of energy contributes both to climate change and the marginalization of the poor, both in Canada and abroad." More>

DEAR PRESIDENT OBAMA: DON'T LET HARPER GO SOUTH ON GLOBAL WARMING WHEN YOU GO NORTH 
 
In a letter to President Obama, leading environmental not-for-profits working in Canada and the United States argue that the integrity of a cap-and-trade system "would be entirely compromised should it somehow give a "pass" to the production of high carbon oil from the tar sands."
