In-Depth Briefing: The UN climate negotiations in Bali
The UN’s annual climate negotiations will take place next month in Bali, Indonesia at a time when concern about climate change among political leaders, citizens and scientists is higher than ever. The main task of the Bali meeting, which runs from December 3-14, is to launch negotiations for a post-2012 global climate agreement that expands and strengthens the Kyoto Protocol.
The Climate Action Network Canada-Réseau action climat Canada (CAN-RAC) will present a technical briefing for journalists on the UN Bali meetings. The briefing will cover the key issues to be negotiated in Bali, summarize Canada’s position, and assess the Canadian government’s credibility on climate issues ahead of this crucial meeting.
