In response to: "Harper aims to clear the air with tough anti-smog rules"
There has been much in the media on the environment, with the Federal Government announcing a whole lot of nothing. The Green Plan we have been promised all summer is looking more and more like it is not going to be a “plan” at all.
The Minister has begun talking about an “approach” instead and a whole other year of consultations before any real action.
Meanwhile we are being told of the merits of a Clean Air Act when we all know that the real problem down the road will be climate change - something the Harper government will do nothing about.
Could this week’s announcements be anything but a delaying tactic? Can we let the Harper government protect the economic interest of his oil and gas hometown, while we watch climate change give rise to extreme events and sea level rise here in Atlantic Canada?
