Norway shows us how on gas reduction

Last Friday, Norway’s environment minister stated that reducing that country’s greenhouse gas emissions by two-thirds by 2050 was achievable with a negligible impact on its economy and will strengthen its technical expertise. She also said and that it has a moral duty to do so.

Her government is committed to making the change gradually and is inviting assistance from Norwegians.

Like Canada, Norway is a northern country with an advanced industrial economy and oil exports. Why is our environment minister’s attitude to climate change so different from Norway’s?
